Along the lines of firsts, this is my first writerly-type post :).

1. How do you remember your first kiss? I got my first kiss in kindergarten from a curly headed boy in a denim jacket named Rocky, quickly followed by a tricycle race.

2. What was your first favorite love song?- Don't Change- INXS.  Is that a love song?

3. What’s the first thing you do when you begin writing for the day? Check on my crit buddies at Critique Circle to see if they have new submissions.

4. Who’s the first writer who truly inspired you to become a writer? Edgar Allen Poe. Loved the creepy stuff when I was a little kid.

5. Did the final revision of your first book have the same first chapter it started with? Not even close. New MC, switched from third to first PoV, and moved chapter one to chapter two.

6. For your first book, which came first: major characters, plot or setting? The plot. I'd been watching shows on mass extinctions with my son and started to wonder if humans could've survived these events. It took years to get to know my characters.

7. What’s the first word you want to roll off the tip of someone’s tongue when they think of your writing? Wow!

  1. :O You posted something! And I actually caught it! I haven't signed on in forever.

New MC? Does that mean Miki wasn't always the main character? When did you start writing it BTW?

And your writing certainly wows me. ;)

  2. Heh. I entered the Like A Virgin pitch contest and they had a blog hop as part of the festivities. Thought it was a good opportunity to give this blogging thing another go.

The original MC was Miki's mom, but I was bored out of my head. I started writing it about six years ago.

Thanks. That means a lot coming from you.

  3. The original MC was the mom? Crazy! So you just up and killed her off, huh? *shakes head* Terrible. Just terrible. :P

  4. That's part of what made it such a tough decision about the prologue. She was the first character I got to know. No clean breaks...

  5. Glad you decided to join us :) When I was about 9 my babysitter (who was a teenage boy) intro'd me to Poe. Come to think of it, it wasn't very smart since after reading The Telltale Heart and such, sleep didn't exactly come easily. Way to make your job harder, teenage boy babysitter...

  6. Thank you so much for putting on such an amazing event. I've been afraid to jump into the fray, but this has been a real treat.

LOL. Yes, I remember scaring myself with the those stories...still couldn't resist.
